Welcome to the Tura experience.
Tura offers and organizes architecture and design cultural events in architecture in Portugal.
The Tura project began in 2007 after an uncompromised tour organized for a group of fellow architects and contractors throughout Lisbon. In 2012, Architect Emanuel Romão and Landscape Architect Nuno Figueiras teamed up, undertaking Tura with their experience and knowledge aiming to provide genuine experiences.
Since then several themed tours were created, developed and studied in order to offer unique experiences, transmitting the spirit of the place, relating architecture with Portuguese culture.
These tours aim to be an exercise of reflection about Architecture, promoting discussions and space for experiences/ideas exchange between the group. All tours are guided by architects, with the possibility of monitoring by the project authors, providing conceptual explanations and technical informations.
«We shall now ask the tourist to come with us. We will act as his cicerone and go over the capital with him, pointing out to him the monuments, the gardens, the more remarkable buildings, the museums – all that is in any way worth seeing in this marvelous Lisbon. After his luggage has been handed to a trustworthy porter, who will deliver it at the hotel if the tourist is staying awhile, let him take his place with us in a motor-car and go on towards the centre of the city. On the way we will be showing him everything that is worth seeing.»
Fernando Pessoa , What the Tourist Should See, Lisbon, 1925
